Rae Belle Sicka

Rae Belle McDorman Sicka died July 20, 2020, at Almost Like Home in Arvada. She was 100 years old at the time of her death. Rae Belle was born Nov. 5, 1919, to Pearl and Sidney Cranwell on the homestead in Lamar, Nebraska.

She was married to Dale Forrest McDorman on Aug. 4, 1942. To this union, four daughters were born.

Her enjoyments in life were singing, dancing, playing cards, ceramics, sewing and being around people. She also enjoyed being a part of the Holyoke American Legion Auxiliary.

After Dale died in 1978, Rae Belle married Bob Sicka in 1993.

Rae Belle lived in Holyoke until she moved to Arvada with her daughter in September 2007. She was put in Almost Like Home in 2019 and lived there until her death.

She is survived by her four daughters, Donna McMackin, Sharon and Joe Risinger, Karon Kessinger and Marlene Grate; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, plus two on the way; and nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service was held Aug. 18 at Holyoke Cemetery and was livestreamed on Baucke Funeral Home and Monuments’ Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s research, in care of the family.

Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
