Ruth McMurdy

    Ruth Anne McMurdy, 90, of Corpus Christi, Texas, died March 17, 2017, at home. Born Aug. 31, 1926, in Holyoke, she was the daughter of Loren and Myrtle (Mitchell) Clayton.
    She was the wife of Nash Edwin McMurdy, her husband of 64 years. They established their home on a farm near Holyoke until moving to Delta in 1969. Nash and Ruth returned to Holyoke in 1989.
    Ruth loved to cook, sew, knit, decorate cakes and other artistic endeavors. They moved to Hanover, Pennsylvania, in 2001 to be near their son Ron. Nash preceded her in death July 2008. She moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, to live with Ronald and Patricia McMurdy.
    In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Marianne Wible; her granddaughter, Denys (Wible) Casagrande; and her brother, Willard Clayton.
    She is survived by two children, Ronald of Corpus Christi and Marlin of Fremont, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Becky (Wible) Andrade of Marshfield, Missouri, and Jason McMurdy of New Hall, California; three great-grandchildren, Sophie and Jacob McMurdy and Wade Andrade; sister, Thelma Waln of Lancaster, California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday, March 22, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Holyoke, with Pastor Verl Roth officiating, Interment will be at the Holyoke Cemetery.
    Baucke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
