Steven Gene Krueger, 58, of Holyoke died Jan. 27, 2017, at his home in Holyoke. Steve was born to Darrel and Joyce Louise (Lininger) Krueger Jan. 10, 1959, in Haxtun.

He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. Steve attended Holyoke schools and graduated from Holyoke High School in 1977. He was involved in Future Farmers of America. After graduation, he went to Western Nebraska Technical College, where he earned his certification in diesel mechanics.
He married Denette Minter in 1984. During their marriage, they made Oklahoma the home for their three daughters, Tara, Vanessa and Amber. Their union ended in divorce in 1990.

Steve met and married Mari Scarrow in 2001. They lived in Imperial, Nebraska, then Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he was honored to raise Kim, Kassie, LJ and Krissy as his own.

Steve worked for John Deere dealers from 1979-2013. He then started working for Lininger Farms baling and hauling hay, working on equipment and helping with anything needed on the family farm. He literally worked until his final day and could take pride in himself with perfectly stacked bales and properly maintained machines.

Steve enjoyed a wide range of hobbies, including woodworking, race cars, crocheting and computers, with his greatest passion being farming.

Steve is survived by his mother, Louise Krueger of Holyoke; wife, Mari of Idaho Falls; sister, Laurie Brown and husband Mark of Holyoke and their children Krystal Diller and husband Jared and children Moira and Nolan of Berthoud, April Sampson and husband Kyle of Greeley, and Kurtis Brown and Kayla of Windsor; brother, Craig Krueger and wife Ravon of Holyoke and their children Jacinda of Fleming, Savanna of Greeley and Derek of Holyoke; daughters, Tara Lyon of McCook, Nebraska, Vanessa Krueger of Louisiana, Amber Krueger of Oklahoma, Kim Krueger of Goodland, Kansas, Kassie Khan of Idaho Falls and Kristina Loop of Idaho Falls; and son LJ Loop of Idaho Falls. He was gifted with the joy of 13 grandchildren. He leaves behind numerous special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, Darrel Gene Krueger; grandparents, Carl and Gladys Krueger and Kenneth and Eleanor Lininger.

Visitation was scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2-6 p.m. at Tennant Funeral Home in Holyoke.

The funeral service was scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, followed by the burial at Holyoke Cemetery.
