Sue Schroetlin

Sue Schroetlin, 71, of Yuma died May 17, 2020, at Yuma District Hospital in Yuma.

Helen “Sue” Anderson was born Sept. 17, 1948, in Holyoke to Philip and Evelyn (Beard) Anderson. She was the sixth of seven children. Everyone knew not to call her Helen, which was her given name. She was always Sue or Susie.

Sue was raised on a farm southwest of Holyoke. She attended Holyoke schools. Sue lived in various places but was mostly a resident of Colorado.

She married Fred Schroetlin on Dec. 30, 1979, at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. She loved square dancing, cooking, baking, gardening, camping, jokes, laughing and spending time with her family.

Sue is survived by her husband, Fred Schroetlin of Yuma; siblings, Dale Anderson and wife Alice of Commerce City, Isabelle Schropfer of Haxtun, Maggie Busch of Holyoke, Barb Tjeerdsma and husband Randy of Yankton, South Dakota, and Jack Anderson and wife Nancy of Garden City, Kansas; sister-in-law, Barbara Anderson of Columbus Junction, Iowa; sons, Jerry Boese of Yuma and Keith Schroetlin and wife Jean of Yuma; daughter, Julie Ewing and husband Chad of Kuna, Idaho; grandchildren, Wendi Churchill of Otis, TJ Washburn of Herington, Kansas, Amber Schroetlin of Fort Collins, Sarah Haley of Spokane, Washington, Anna Holguin and wife Irene of Yuma, Ashley Ewing of Kuna and Aislynn Boese of Yuma; great-grandchildren, Faythe, Skyler, Cayden, Malikye, Kaysen, Rozilynne, Azrielle, Quaraline, Ava and Trinity; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Evelyn Anderson; Fred’s parents, Harold and Mildred Schroetlin; brother, Joe Anderson; brothers-in-law, Randy Busch and Raymond Schropfer; sister-in law, Peggy Lillich; great-nephew, Josh Schroetlin; and great-niece, Cassidy Hale.

A graveside service was held May 21 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in rural Yuma.

Memorials may be made to Angels for Life in the Plains or the Ronald McDonald House.

Baucke Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
