A woman’s influence (Part 2)

Article Image Alt Text

Last time we looked at an amusing tale that demonstrated the power a woman can hold over a man — although our tale focused on a woman’s physical beauty. Today we want to focus on the effect a woman’s character has on her husband.

Ladies, we will obviously be focusing on you today, but men, understand that if you fulfill your role as a worthy husband, it will be a rare occurrence that your wife will not also fulfill her role as a worthy wife. That being said, ladies, you have an awesome amount of influence in how your husband is viewed by others, how he develops as a leader, how he grows spiritually, and in just about every other facet of his life. Solomon says, “A worthy wife is her husband’s joy and crown.”

So, what constitutes a worthy wife or a wife of valor? A worthy wife is capable for the task at hand, she enriches her husband’s life in every facet, she is like a fortress in which her husband can run to in times of trouble, she is mighty in protecting his character and reputation, she provides him the strength he needs to face any battle, she stand out in this world as a woman of virtue, and she will fight side by side with her husband just as an army fights together for the same cause.

This is a wife that a husband is proud of in so many ways — not even close to the pride a man may have because he has a “trophy wife” (what an awful designation for a woman). He can hold his head up high in the community knowing that his wife is there to encourage and support him as he leads his family, leads his fellow man, and leads any other venture that God entrusts to his care. This man leaves his home with confidence and surety that he can fulfill his God-given role in this world.

Ladies, I trust you to not go away from this thinking that your role is second-class in any way, shape or form. It is your influence that will allow a man to reach heights he could never have imagined without you. He will never be all that God intended him to be without you. Humans are interdependent creatures, and this is never so apparent as in the husband/wife relationship.
