‘Shrek’ musical brings gifts of song, true love and flatulence

Dragon Theatre Company premiered “Shrek The Musical,” an irreverent take on fairy tale yore, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and sold 156 tickets within Holyoke High School auditorium. Children came in free.

Co-directors Jes-c French and Karina Davis emphasized the hard work of student actors in the play, with French adding in the program, “There is something truly beautiful about being yourself regardless of what others may think” and Davis following it with a message to the students: “I know I am hard on you. I have extremely high expectations and you have all exceeded them...I sure love you little brats.”
