10 Local FFA members attend 91st National FFA Convention & Expo

McCallum, Camblin earn American degrees

The National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to 653,359 student members who belong to one of 8,568 local FFA chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
This year’s national convention took place Monday-Saturday, Oct. 22-27, in Indianapolis, Indiana, with a theme of “Just One.” The theme brought light to the fact that all it takes is “just one voice, one moment, one encounter, one person to step up to the challenge” to make a change and close the “hate gap.”
The attendance at this year’s convention was record breaking with over 67,000 FFA members in attendance. Holyoke was one of the local chapters in attendance taking 10 members: Brenna Sullivan, Kaylee Camblin, Emma Roll, Haley Van Overbeke, Theron Roll, Trent Huffman, Alex Vieselmeyer, Colby Purkeypile, Cole LeBlanc and Mauro Morales
Additionally, Wyatt McCallum attended to receive his American FFA Degree. Tyler Camblin also received this degree but was not in attendance. The American FFA Degree is the highest degree an FFA member can receive, and less than 1 percent of  FFA members receive it.
