1st and 3rd graders connect with fun, laughs in concert

Holyoke first and third graders were back on the stage for a spring concert with their performance of “The Rainbow Connection” on Tuesday, May 4.

Directed by music teacher Marcia Dalton, “The Rainbow Connection” tells the story of kids aboard a train called the Rainbow Express as they seek the pot of gold that will make their dreams come true.

Numerous speaking parts were  featured, and jokes helped add some laughter to a fun-filled afternoon. (“What is a fisherman’s favorite musical instrument? Castanets!”)

The program opened with “On the Rainbow Express.” Conductors included Derek Aranda, Julian Legarreta, Ainsley Kramer, Branton McCabe, Bo Steggs, Joseph Kleve, Ian Hernandez and Gabe Mateo Zazo.

Narrators were Levi Clayton, Jozelyn Perez, Gael Ramirez Teutle, Tenley Becker, David Vazquez, Cruse Weber and JaRae Sholes.
