6th-8th compete at brain bowl
Holyoke schools sent students in sixth, seventh and eighth grade to compete in the 2019 North Region Optimist Brain Bowl at Standley Lake High School in Westminster last Saturday, Jan. 26. The region includes northern Colorado and all of Wyoming.
Holyoke Elementary’s sixth-grade team finished with a score of 57, placing 17th. Summit Charter won the contest. Holyoke’s junior high team scored 62 and placed 30th. The winning team in that division was Southern Hills.
In the competition, students answer questions in one written round and five oral rounds. The top six teams qualify for the Colorado-Wyoming championship tournament Feb. 23 in Denver.
