Bergner, Herman to represent at Girls State

    Representing Holyoke at the 2019 session of Colorado Girls State, HHS juniors Lauren Bergner and Josie Herman were selected by Holyoke Unit No. 90 of the American Legion Auxiliary. The statewide program will be held at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley from June 9-14.
    The mission of Colorado Girls State is to “provide an outstanding, unique and coveted educational opportunity for the young women of our nation that instills the basic ideals and principles of American government through the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls Nation citizenship training programs.”
    Girls State enrollment is limited to 300 delegates who have completed their junior year of high school with above average academic standing, have high moral character, have an interest in government and current events, and possess leadership qualities.
