Burris, Watson selected to attend Boys State

    Holyoke’s American Legion Post 90 has selected Holyoke High School juniors Slaten Burris and Seth Watson to attend the 2019 session of Colorado Boys State. The six-day hands-on experience will be held June 1-7 at University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.
    Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the operation of the democratic form of government, the organization of political parties, and the relationship of one to the other in shaping Colorado government. The session is sponsored by the Colorado American Legion.
    While at Boys State, students are expected to demonstrate leadership abilities, interact with delegates from across Colorado, share ideas and opinions, and learn from others.
    The American Legion Colorado Boys State program is sponsored by the Colorado American Legion. The program cost is paid for by the American Legion.
