Nicholas Ortner, a 2015 HHS graduate, was inducted into Northeastern Junior College’s Zeta Theta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the prestigious two-year college international honor society. Phi Theta Kappa provides opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence. Inductees must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours at NJC with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.

Keynote speaker for the induction was Dr. Dorothy (Ortner) Horrell, chancellor of the University of Colorado Denver.

Luke Krogmeier, a senior at HHS, was one of nine honored at NJC as a Scholar Performer. To be a Scholar Performer, the student must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and be a member of one of NJC’s student organizations. Krogmeier is a member of debate.
