Community unity
Holyoke High School FBLA members, from left, Tayla Martin and Lauren Herman, as well as Ethan Schneller lead seventh graders in community service projects around town, including the community garden, Thursday, March 31. The trio met with seventh grade students for six weeks to teach them about leadership skills and the basics of community service. Then, it was up to the seventh graders to choose projects to improve the community. “We wanted them to be in charge,” said Schneller, “and for them to understand the value of community service to both themselves and the community.” — Darci Rodriguez | The Holyoke Enterprise
