County Sheriffs scholarship apps due Feb. 22

    Residents of Phillips County are eligible for scholarships from County Sheriffs of Colorado on alternating years. This year, applications are due Friday, Feb. 22, for awards applicable to the fall 2019/spring 2020 academic year.
    Approximately 30 $500 scholarships are awarded by CSOC, through its honorary membership program, each year.
    “CSOC considers this an investment in the future and believes that our membership is helping to provide deserving students with an opportunity to make a positive contribution to society as a whole,” organizers said.
    Any permanent legal resident of Phillips County who plans to enroll in a vocational training program or institution of higher learning in the state of Colorado as a full-time or part-time student for the 2019-20 school year is eligible.
    Those who have received scholarships in previous years may apply again and be considered for an additional award.
    Applicants must be legal residents of the United States and eligible for admission or readmission to the school(s) or institution(s) of learning indicated in the applications. The award will only be paid for attendance at certified schools or institutions of learning with the state of Colorado.
