Curtain falls on 2018-19 school year; actors honored

    Actors and actresses from the Dragon Theatre Company’s 2018 “The Addams Family” and 2019 “Arsenic and Old Lace” were honored at an awards lunch in the Holyoke High School library May 21.
    Directors Bret Miles and Pat Wiebers recognized the students for their talent and the hard work that went into the two productions and countless rehearsals. Above that, the group was commended for being open and accepting, welcoming new students into the cast and encouraging one another along the way.
    Just outside the HHS auditorium hang six perpetual plaques. Each year, award winners’ names are added. This year’s winners are:
    — Outstanding performance by an actress in the musical: Tayler Hale as Morticia.
    — Outstanding performance by an actor in the musical: Dylan Miles as Gomez.
    — Most outstanding song in the musical: Brenna Gatton for “Pulled.”
    — Outstanding performance by an actor in the play: Kenneth Lindholm as Jonathan Brewster.
    — Outstanding performance by an actress in the play: Brenna Gatton as Abby Brewster.
    —Outstanding contribution to the company: Zander Salyers.
