Daniel, Wheeler, Mehring-Smith honored at 2019 Emerald Awards

Holyoke School District teachers Carly Daniel, Melanie Wheeler and Rhonda Mehring-Smith were recognized last Thursday, April 25, at the 10th annual Emerald Awards program, held in the Peerless Theatre. Daniel was recognized as Leader Among Us for sharing her talents and making the education profession stronger. As Innovator of the Year, Wheeler was honored for taking risks to improve the craft of education. Mehring-Smith won the Heart Award for demonstrating the heart of a dedicated educator.  The Thursday evening program featured “A Life That’s Good” sung by Holyoke High School students Jessy and Jacky Mosqueda, as well as videos created by the Holyoke High School TV productions class. — The Holyoke Enterprise | Johnson Publications
