Dragon Country fired up for homecoming
School spirit was alive and well last week during Holyoke School District’s homecoming festivities. The parade Thursday, Oct. 7, was part of the week’s student spirit contests, which also included dress-up days, olympics and a pep rally. Warm October weather was perfect for Thursday’s community/alumni tailgate barbecue and bonfire in the JR/SR high school parking lot, which were new to the homecoming schedule this year. Holyoke fans sported green and gold for softball, volleyball and football events, and iconic Dragons flags could be seen waving in the breeze throughout town. As the old cheer goes, “It’s great to be a Holyoke Dragon!”
