Dragon fans get fired up for new mascot named Spike

Holyoke School District has debuted a brand new Dragon costume this fall, and with that comes a new name for the school mascot. The Dragon Times newspaper held a contest to name the Dragon, and after a schoolwide vote, his new name is Spike. It was announced at the homecoming pep rally Friday, Sept. 27, at Holyoke City Park.
