Dragon Theatre Company brings ‘Alice in Wonderland’ to Holyoke
Finishing touches are being put on the Dragon Theatre Company’s production of “Alice in Wonderland,” and the student actors are excited to bring a fun and timeless show to the stage for their community.
Show times are scheduled Friday, April 21, and Saturday, April 22, at 7 p.m. in the Holyoke High School auditorium, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The show will be followed by the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in the commons, where theatergoers will have the chance to visit with the cast and crew, take photos, and enjoy tea party fare.
The cast and crew are made up of several students who have participated in the theater program in the past, but there are also a few new faces who have joined in this spring.
HHS junior Hannah Lindholm leads the cast as Alice. After falling down a rabbit hole, Alice is faced with many unusual events as she tries to find her way back home. The white rabbit, played by Charlotte Kramer, does not have much time to spare. The caterpillar, played by Piper McConachie, is feeling contrary. The Mad Hatter, played by Alma Alejandre, seems to speak mostly in riddles. Nevertheless, the colorful creatures Alice comes in contact with all help her in their own way – even when facing the formidable Red Queen, played by Daniela Fierro.
