Elementary spring concert gets crowd to ‘Lighten Up!’

    By the end of the night April 12, the stage at the Holyoke High School auditorium was filled with laughter and dancing — from the the first- and third-grade performers and members of the audience who were convinced to join.
    Under the direction of music teacher Marcia Dalton, the elementary students delivered jokes, skits, song and dance at this year’s spring concert, “Lighten Up!”
    Leading off with the title number, “Lighten Up” featured soloists Hadley Kerst and Lily Miller, as well as narrators Kynlea Nelson, Kyle Goldenstein, Juan Nuñez, Braylin Herman, Ryker Ring, Reece Trumper, Mason McCormick, Tanner Haynes, Elizabeth Horsley, Farrah Koberstein, Leroy Lee, Lily Sprague, Izzy Perry and Izaak Hayes.
    Face makers for the song “Funny Face” were Gizem Barraza Rico, Hector Fernandez, Braylin Herman, Rebekah Krieger, Elizabeth Horsley, Brandon Adler, Lili Vasquez, Perry, Nuñez, McCormick, Ring and Koberstein.
    The crocodile guys were Brett Schroetlin, Rorey Schneller and Jacob Quintana.
    Boomwhackers for “Whacky Song” were Sophia Rahe, Daniela Castillo Marquez, Roxy Santos, Jackie Santiesteban, Angie Zuniga Fedan, Dayami Trejo, Ricardo Goytia Juarez, John Krieger, Elia Wear, Peyton Adams and Sujey Bustillos.
