FBLA members qualify for state

    Members of the Holyoke chapter of FBLA traveled to Northeastern Junior College on Wednesday, Feb. 7, for district competition, accompanied by adviser Lori Nelson.
    Local Future Business Leaders of America competed in several events against schools from Caliche, Fleming, Haxtun, Julesburg, Peetz, Sterling, Revere, Weldon Valley and Wray.
    They also attended workshops including Banking 101 and “State Your Purpose,” presented by keynote speaker Zach Mercurio.
    Holyoke’s first-place district finishers were Jair Jimenez in both advertising and business communication; Luke Krogmeier in both business law and economics; Jackie Valenzuela, E-business; Rylee Schneller, graphic design; Lali Marquez, E-business; Emily Trejo, E-business; and Amy Mackay, graphic design.
    Second-place honors went to Brenna Gatton, intro to business communication; and Emma Roll, agribusiness.
    Finishing in third were Slaten Burris, entertainment and sports management; Roll, advertising; Brandon Nevarez, business law; Alexis Vega, sports and entertainment management; Michael Pell, intro to business procedures; Joey Beckner, intro to financial math; Grace Dille, social media campaign; Tate Dille, social media campaign; and Ashley Rahe, social media campaign.
    Earning fourth place were Mariah Pell, business law; and Ashley Aranda, intro to business procedures.
    Fifth place went to Tori Hatton, business law; Nevarez, cyber security; Kyra Loutensock, personal finance; Alec Sprague, intro to business; and Bailey Hamaker, job interview.
    Finishing sixth were Burris, accounting; Tyler Lamm, business communication; and Valenzuela, organizational leadership.
    Seventh place went to Mackay, journalism; and Kylie Purkeypile, impromptu speaking.
    Eighth place finishers were Shianne Willmon, accounting; and Schneller,  journalism.
    Earning ninth were Alexis Vega, organizational leadership; and Sarah Razo, intro to financial math.
    Loutensock finished 10th  in healthcare administration.
