Respect
By Jayce Boerner

Respect means treat others the way you want to be treated. Say please, thank you and excuse me. Never talk to others behind their back. Be kind and considerate. Always include others. Don’t judge somebody by how they look. Value others and build them up. Only pick out the good in others. Never be rude or mean. Respect means a lot of things. Everyone should be respectful and get respected.

Respect

Have you ever wondered how to be respectful to others and to yourself? Well if not, then you might want to read this great essay. It will tell you what to say, what to do and to not body shame yourself. My writing is so important because some people don’t know that little things hurt people.

Words

First, you need to learn that words can hurt people like an arrow through the heart. You might think that words are just something little, and that they don’t mean anything. Well words are one of the most powerful things you could do/say to make someone feel respected. A few words you could say are “thank you” or “excuse me.”

Sometimes, it is better to say “sorry” than to say anything else. Saying stuff like “sorry,” “thank you” and “excuse me” can make someone feel respected. It shows manners, and we all know that when one has manners it makes the person you are talking to as happy as a laughing baby.

Actions

Another way to make someone feel respected is to show good actions. For example, if you are walking out the door and someone is right behind, you should hold the door. It will definitely make that person’s day. Another thing is, if you are using something and someone else wants to use it, do not hog whatever it is. It is just very rude and makes that person feel disrespected. Also, do not touch someone if they do not want to be touched, and if you do not want to be touched, tell that person to stop. Trust me. Your actions can really hurt someone, and you need to know that.
