Free youth food program continues

Over the summer Chartwells school dining services will continue to hand out free breakfasts and lunches to the community of Holyoke who are under 18.

In a report to the school board in May, Chartwells said that the United States Department of Agriculture has extended the waiver to feed kids for free until September 2021. Although the USDA started the waiver during COVID-19, this waiver allows Chartwells to continue feeding the children of the community without having to pay.

Chartwells will be continuing to provide breakfast and lunch meals to the community who are under 18 till the end of the USDA waiver.

In addition to pickup at Holyoke Elementary School, meals are packed for breakfast and lunch, and delivered to three trailer parks and four day cares in town.
