HHS hosts FCCLA fall conference

A collaborative service project was at the center of this year’s Northeastern Plains District FCCLA fall conference. Holyoke High School, with 21 FCCLA members participating, hosted the Oct. 17 conference at the Phillips County Event Center, and the 10 chapters in attendance worked together to package meals for their local food banks.
Meals were packaged through an organization called Something to Eat out of Kansas City, Kansas. FCCLA chapters from Holyoke, Akron, Brush, Fort Morgan, Haxtun, Liberty, Merino, Sterling, Wray and Yuma individually raised money for the meals before the conference. A total of 98 boxes — or 21,168 meals — were distributed among the nine visiting chapters.
