HHS sends 54 to district FBLA

Holyoke High School was well represented Thursday, Feb. 6, with 54 members attending the Future Business Leaders of America District IV Leadership Conference at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling.

Kylie Purkeypile, a Holyoke junior and state FBLA officer representing District IV, planned the event with District IV officers Joe Beckner of Holyoke and Tanley Andersen and Azariah Calderon of Haxtun.

Holyoke adviser Lori Nelson said the Holyoke FBLA chapter had a record number of students qualify for the state conference, which will be April 22-25 at the Gaylord of the Rockies in Denver.

Those who placed at districts and qualified for state are:

Alma Alejandre, first, 3D Animation; Sabryn Burris, first, Graphic Design, and fourth, Word Processing; Kailar Hayes, first, Cyber Security, and first, Journalism; Diego Jimenez, first, Introduction to Information Technology; Jimena Nuñez, first, 3D Animation.

Dakota Pell, first, Introduction to Business Procedures, and third, Introduction to Business; Ethan Schneller, first, Graphic Design; Aaron Sierra, first, Word Processing; Alec Sprague, first, Business Law; Kristin Vieselmeyer, first, Graphic Design.

Correy Koellner, second, Introduction to Business; Blake Mosenteen, second, Agribusiness; Johny Quintana, second, Introduction to Business Communication; Tuff Sigler, second, Computer Applications, and fourth, agribusiness; EV Vasquez, second, Journalism, and third, Digital Video Production; Nain Vasquez, second, Accounting II; Alexis Vega, second, Business Law.
