Holyoke High School to graduate 38 Sunday afternoon

    Preparing to make their way into the next chapter of life, 38 Holyoke High School seniors are readying themselves for graduation Sunday, May 12. A baccalaureate service will begin at 1 p.m. in the HHS auditorium, and the graduation ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. in the new gym.
    Guests will be welcomed to commencement by Superintendent Kyle Stumpf. HHS Principal Shane Walkinshaw will present the class of 2019, and diplomas and scholarships will be presented by HHS counselor Angela Powell, school board vice president Dusty Sprague and board member Trampas Hutches.
    Those honored for being at the top of the class will give valedictory addresses, and class president Jillian Hunter will give the farewell speech.
    Citizenship awards will be presented by the American Legion Auxiliary and American Legion Post No. 90.
    HHS band will provide processional music and a special performance of “Ghostbusters.” Senior members of Sound Check will be performing “Time of Your Life.”
      The graduating class has chosen to commemorate the occasion with the quotation “And today is the day we’ve waited for,” by Electric Light Orchestra. The class colors are crimson and silver, and the class flower is a carnation. Sunday’s ceremony will conclude with the class song, “Country Roads” by John Denver.

    Diana Gonzalez, Gabrielle Lee Gordon, Trenton Daniel Huffman, Jillian Renee Hunter, Mauro Juarez, Cole Gabriel LeBlanc, Hope Nicole Looka, Marcos Lopez, Kyra Lynn Loutensock, Corben Aaron McCallum, Dylan Joseph Miles, Mauro Jesus Morales, Jaqueline Mosqueda, Jessica Mosqueda, Jaromi Olivas.
    Colby Austin Purkeypile, Maritza Quintana, Emma Christine Roll, Paola Ruiz-Juarez, Zander Deon Salyers, Kirsten Leigh Secrist, Keegan Ross Shaw, Brenna Dean Sullivan, Jesus Guillermo Trejo, Dario Alfredo Varela and Alex Thomas Vieselmeyer. Daniel Donald Vernon is an honorary member of the class.
