Holyoke represents in Sumdog contest

    Over the span of a seven-day competition, 543 area elementary students from 35 classes voluntarily answered 187,063 math questions — for fun.
    East Central and Northeast Colorado Sumdog contest is an annual competition that was held May 12-18 this year, and many students from Holyoke  Elementary School got involved.
    Results from the contest are compiled, and the top 20 individuals are recognized. Of the various schools involved, Holyoke boasted a whopping 17 who placed in the top 20. Top-20 finishers from Holyoke are second-graders Jacob Quintana, Rorey Schneller, Angel Gonzalez Salazar, Angie Zeniga Fedan, Brody Smith, Lucy Hayes and Ricardo Goytia Juarez; third-graders Mason Sprague, Patrick Moreno, Esteban Rojas, Jeylin Dominguez, Ellie Kleve and Nevaeh Speicher; fourth-graders Abigail Dille and Fatima Nuñez; fifth-grader Tayla Martin; and sixth-grader Jessey Zuniga.
