JR/SR high starts school Aug. 17; first day for elementary is Aug. 18
Holyoke School District continues 4-day week
With an overwhelmingly positive response to the four-day school week in the 2021-22 school year, Holyoke School District will continue with a similar schedule in the 2022-23 school year.
New teachers will have orientation Monday-Tuesday, Aug. 8-9, and all teachers will have inservice days Aug. 10, 11, 15 and 16.
School will begin with a “soft start” and a shortened week for students. The JR/SR high will kick off the year Wednesday, Aug. 17. That same day there will be parent-teacher conferences for the elementary, followed by the first day of school for K-6 on Thursday, Aug. 18.
There will be school Friday, Aug. 19 — one of only three Fridays when school will be held.
