Kailar Hayes earns Daniels Scholarship

Holyoke School District is pleased to announce that Kailar Hayes, a senior at Holyoke High School, has earned a place in the Daniels Scholarship Program. Hayes was among 240 students across Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming who were selected as 2022 Daniels Scholars.

Hayes has been active at HHS and in the Holyoke community. He has served as a member of FBLA and taken part in many theater productions in addition to taking on a challenging course load and working.

Daniels Scholars demonstrate the strength of character, leadership potential and a commitment to serving the community that will position them for success. They are selected because they possess these and other distinguishing qualities and values that were important to Daniels Fund founder Bill Daniels.

Hayes has worked hard to develop his leadership skills, challenge himself, and strive to gain the knowledge, skills and character he needs to find success in life.

Daniels Scholars may attend any accredited nonprofit college or university anywhere in the United States. The program covers up to $100,000 toward their undergraduate education, depending on family need.

“We’re delighted to invest in the education of these outstanding young people,” said Hanna Skandera, president and CEO of the Daniels Fund. “We can’t wait to see the success and impact of the 2022 Class of Daniels Scholars. It’s an incredible group of motivated, talented and hard-working leaders.”

With this year’s announcement, more than 4,800 students have received the Daniels Scholarship. Since 2000, more than $255 million in scholarships has been awarded through the Daniels Scholarship Program.

“These students have incredible grit and drive, embody the values that guided Bill Daniels’ life and are poised to do great things. It’s an honor to carry on Bill Daniels’ legacy of giving by supporting these outstanding young people’s educations,” said Skandera. “We can’t wait to see their success and the long-term impacts they make with this opportunity.”

Hayes plans to major in computer science at the University of Denver. His parents are Luke and Jen Hayes.

Motivated high school students graduating in 2023 are encouraged to visit www.DanielsFund.org this October to apply online for the Daniels Scholarship Program.
