Kathleen Kropp hired as elementary counselor

    Kathleen Kropp was hired as Holyoke Elementary School counselor for 2017-18. Approval was given at the brief school board meeting Tuesday, July 18, which preceded a board retreat.
    Kropp earned her Master of Arts degree in counseling from the University of Colorado-Denver, and has spent the past year as a self-employed private practice licensed professional counselor in Holyoke.
    Prior to that, she worked for Centennial Mental Health Center as a mental health professional/counselor out of the Holyoke office.
    Her contract will be adjusted to allow for five working days prior to school starting, as well as five additional days after school ends.
    In other business at last week’s meeting, the school board accepted the resignation of third-grade teacher Christina Lucero.
    Extra-duty assignments and stipends for 2017-18 were approved as follows:
    Nic Balog, assistant HS football, $1,861; Ashley Hoffner, assistant HS volleyball, $1,861; Maddie King, assistant volunteer HS volleyball; Sam Distefano, head HS baseball, $3,102; John Baumgartner, assistant HS baseball, $1,861; Marcus Kammer and Brett Gerk, assistant volunteers HS baseball.
