McCallum places 3rd in district Voice of Democracy
Holyoke High School senior Corben McCallum won Holyoke’s Voice of Democracy speech sponsored by VFW Post #6482 last November. Doing so gave him the opportunity to compete against winners from other posts on the district level. With his essay recorded and submitted against the others in District 4, he took third-place honors.
The 2018-19 theme of the annual essay-writing contest was “Why My Vote Matters.” As McCallum wrote in his essay, voting is one of the biggest privileges Americans have. “Your one vote, my one vote, can change the world.”
