National Honor Society admits 10 new members

In a Feb. 16 ceremony in Heginbotham Auditorium at Holyoke JR/SR High School, the local chapter of National Honor Society inducted 10 new members. Chapter president Cade Killin welcomed students, family, staff members and other supporters to the ceremony. Officers Kristin Vieselmeyer, Josie Schlachter, Emmanuel Vasquez and Lauren Herman spoke of the four pillars of NHS: scholarship, service, leadership and character. New members’ achievements were detailed, illustrating how they exemplify NHS pillars. The inductees then took the NHS pledge. They are pictured from left, front row, Emma Thompson, Tamara Penzing, Sabryn Burris, Erin Andersen, Alma Alejandre and Clover Adler; and back row, Mariana Varela, Kai Siep, Ethan Schneller and Elise Krogmeier. — The Holyoke Enterprise
