No mistake about it — ‘E-I-E-I-Oops!’ is a barnyard of fun

“Did you hear about the hog with no nose?”
“No — how did he smell?”
    “Terrible!”
Joke-telling was just one of the many efforts made by first- and third-graders at the Thursday, April 6, “E-I-E-I-Oops!” program at the HHS auditorium to encourage a poor little heifer to moo.
The production was directed by Holyoke Elementary music teacher Marcia Dalton, who was assisted by teacher aide Emily Krogmeier.
Pigs hammed it up, sheep got lost and chicks acted cute before a wise mule came up with the solution — the cow just needed a little self-esteem boost. Compliments on the bovine’s udder, bone structure and big eyes helped her find the courage to moo.
In the process, a packed auditorium enjoyed a variety of songs from the barnyard of animals.
