Oakley, Marroquin crowned at virtual prom

Prom 2020, like many activities this spring, took a virtual turn from the traditional annual high school event. Juniors Erick Marroquin and Rylee Oakley, pictured at top, were named king and queen on what would have been prom day Saturday, May 2. Royalty candidates were announced the previous weekend and are pictured above, from left, front row, Haley Van Overbeke, Oakley and Kylie Purkeypile; and back row, Aaron Sierra, Joe Beckner and Marroquin. Students are encouraged to send in any photos or videos of how they celebrated prom 2020 at home, whether serious or funny. A recap video will be published on the school district’s website at hcosd.org and Facebook page this Saturday, May 9.
