Outstanding student actors honored

    With the school year coming to a close, the Dragon Theatre Company held an awards luncheon for all students involved in the 2017 musical, “Spamalot,” and the 2018 play, “The Best Man.” Those who made outstanding contributions to the drama department were recognized by director Bret Miles and Pat Wiebers.
    In a practice fairly new to Holyoke High School, theatre award winners are honored each year by having their names added to perpetual plaques that hang in the school.
    At the May 14 luncheon in the HHS auditorium, the following awards were named:
    — Outstanding actress for a musical in 2017: Savannah Burris.
    —Outstanding actor for a musical in 2017: Luke Krogmeier.
    —Outstanding song: “I’m All Alone” by Dylan Miles and Krogmeier.
    —Outstanding actor for a play in 2018: Krogmeier.
    —Outstanding actress for a play in 2018: Dominique Penzing.
    —Outstanding contribution to the company: Tyler Lamm.
