This is the part where you run — to the auditorium to see ‘Shrek’

There’s something big and green coming to Holyoke, and this time it’s not a dragon, but an ogre.

Dragon Theatre Company is set to perform the Theatre for Young Audiences edition of “Shrek the Musical” Friday, Nov. 18, and Saturday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. in the Holyoke High School auditorium. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.

On Friday, FCCLA members will be serving their “Straight from the Swamp” dinner theater at 5:30 p.m. in the HHS commons. The meal features Duloc kabobs over rice, steamed broccoli, swamp grass salad, FCCLA bread, Fiona’s dirt cake, and ogre essence punch. Dinner tickets are on sale through Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, “Shrek The Musical TYA” is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. “Shrek” brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears.
