Past, present and future Dragons admire construction projects at JR/SR high open house

There were plenty of oohs and aahs last Thursday and Friday when community members, alumni and families were invited to tour the construction projects recently completed at Holyoke JR/SR High School. The renovations were made possible by a Building Excellent Schools Today grant and the Holyoke School District voters’ approval of a bond election. Updates included high school and junior high locker rooms, elevator for the new gym, referee’s room, trainer’s suite, front office/secure entryway, warming kitchen/concessions stand, weight room, ramp to the old gym, handicap accessibility in the auditorium and more. On Thursday, Oct. 7, Superintendent Kyle Stumpf, at left, shows off the high school boys locker room to one of the tour groups, including adults, from left, Daniel Koch, Tim Becker, Kristin Koch and Monica Becker; and kids, from left, Haley Koch, Eli Koch, Tenley Becker and Maesa Becker. — The Holyoke Enterprise | Johnson Publications
