Preschoolers peering at pizzas, brought to you by the letter P
The average age of the morning coffee crowd at Pizza p.a.d. was cut in half June 20, as the summer Dragon’s Wagon Preschool class joined the regulars.
Students entering kindergarten this August have spent the summer in the preschool program, continuing their education but also enjoying some fun field trips. Focusing on different letters for each outing, they explored the letter Q at Creative Traditions, mailed letters at the post office while studying the letter M and rode horses on the day that featured H.
This Tuesday had them trekking to Pizza p.a.d. for, you guessed it, the letter P. Preschool teachers Marcia Walter and Ashley Gragg prepped them for the journey by asking what their favorite type of pizza is. While some brave souls favor mushroom or pineapple and cherry, the majority prefer cheese or pepperoni.
Owner Danette Vasa explained the process of making a pizza while Eric Conklin demonstrated. By the time they were done, preschoolers knew all about flattening the dough, putting holes in it with a roller docker, weighing the toppings and putting it in the oven.
