Students of the Month

Students of the Month for November at Holyoke JR/SR High School have been named. They are senior Seth Watson, nominated by ag teacher Shauna Strecker, and seventh grader Matthew Murray, nominated by social science teacher Hannah Krening.

Strecker’s letter read, “Seth is deserving of Student of the Month because he has really shown his care and generosity of his classmates recently. He is constantly checking in on classmates that are struggling and even gives rides to students who don’t have their own rides. Mr. Watson is also involved in Sources of Strength and has stepped up as a peer leader in our school.”

The nomination letter for Murray read, “Matthew Murray is a 7th grader that has been very helpful and vocal and has emerged as a leader during the Sources of Strength training that we had two weeks ago. He has been vocal and a leader within all of our meetings and has been very supportive and helpful within his classes and his grade level. He always offers his thoughts, opinions and ideas. He is always the first to raise his hand and volunteer not only in front of his classmates, but in front of upperclassmen, setting a good example for all the students involved.”
