Students of the month

Students of the Month for December at Holyoke JR/SR High School have been named. They are freshman Cash Weber, nominated by resource teacher Wendy Grothman, and seventh grader Ellie Kleve, nominated by social studies teacher Micah Mehl.

The nomination letter for Weber read, “Cash is an extremely polite young man and a great role model to his peers. The kindness he showed an underclassman in my room by giving him his total attention and being patient with him when others were shunning him showed his true strength of character. Cash is always willing to help others even when he is busy himself. He is so quiet that his amazing personality isn’t always noticed by others.”

Kleve’s letter read, “Ellie is always willing to stay and clean the desks at the end of both the classes I have with her. She offers to clean the desks before I ask for volunteers and will stay until the last minute to make sure the classroom is sanitized for the next class. She also always turns her work in on time and she displays excellence in all the work she has done for my classes. She also is engaged and asks thought-provoking questions that drive her learning as well as that of her classmates. This is why I think she is deserving of the award of Student of the Month.”
