‘Fuel with Nutrition’ webinar offered Sept. 4 for all sports enthusiasts
Parents, athletes, coaches and anyone interested in gaining more knowledge about nutrition are invited to a free webinar Monday, Sept. 4, from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Biesemeier Room at the Phillips County Event Center in Holyoke.
Colorado State University Extension in Phillips County has partnered with Pamela Bartz, CSU director of sports nutrition, to support all levels of athletes with a recorded webinar presentation.
Bartz will share how to build a performance plate, prepare with preworkout fueling, rebuild with postworkout fueling, hydration needs and supplement education.
After the presentation, there will be time to listen to the responses Bartz gave to specific nutritional questions posed by past participants.
Hours have been spent over the summer months preparing the body for competition through weight programs. Student athletes have honed their skills for their sport or sports. There are many components to every sport that an athlete attends to in order to strive for success.
It seems that with more knowledge about enhancing performance, student athletes are having to spend more and more time, money and energy just to stay in the game.
What about providing student athletes with knowledge and practice that will be with them for the rest of their lives? Observing proper nutrition when they are young athletes will carry over into their adult lives.
