2018-19 girls basketball team led by 10 letterwinners

Holyoke High School’s girls basketball team plans to kick off its season at the Canine Classic in Highland Friday-Saturday, Nov. 30-Dec. 1, with the first game scheduled at 4 p.m. against Liberty Common.
Third-year coach John Baumgartner said he expects the 2018-19 corps of veteran players to continue to build on Holyoke’s historic 2017-18 season, which included 20 wins and a state consolation championship.
“We’re excited,” he said. “There’s a lot of people returning, and we have a little more depth and experience than the last year or two, which is good.”
Baumgartner had previously expressed his hopes to beef up summer training, and this season said the team has been getting in the weight room and participating in summer basketball camps.
Letterwinners include seniors Savannah Burris and Kaylee Camblin; juniors Taeryn Trumper, Emily Jelden, Shianne Willmon, Victoria Race and Sarah Razo; and sophomores Taylor Trumper, Ashley Rahe and Emali Torres.
