3A state swim meet held Tuesday in Thornton

Weather postponed the 3A girls state swimming competition not once, but twice this week as Holyoke swimmers awaited the opportunity to compete at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center in Thornton.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, March 13, the swimming competition was moved to Monday, March 15, a week ago when weather forecasts indicated a storm was moving in.

Wanting to make sure they could get to Denver, the Holyoke team left town Saturday morning, March 13.
