5 HHS swimmers compete Saturday

Five swimmers from the Holyoke High School team competed in the Rex Abelein Memorial Invite, otherwise known as the coaches invite Saturday, Dec. 21, in Thornton.
Coach Aly Brinkema explained that the meet is held every year before the holiday break and serves as a precursor to the state championships in February.
Time qualifications for this invitational are tougher than the 3A state qualifying times, with most at just under the 4A state times. The meet format included prelims in the morning and the top 20 returning for finals in the afternoon.
Holyoke represented in individual events and all three relays.
