Athletes feel the heat in mini triathlon Saturday

    A warm, sunny mini triathlon Saturday, July 13, capped off a six-week challenge organized by Colorado State University Extension.
    Twelve participants competed in 2 miles of running/walking, 4 miles of biking and six laps of swimming in and around Holyoke Swimming Pool and Holyoke City Park.
    Two completed the mini triathlon individually, with Kerri Gardner clocking a time of 53 minutes and 47 seconds in the adult division and Allison Warren finishing with a time of 48:25 in the junior division.
    The team of Katie, Ethan and Erin Andersen finished first in 41:15, followed by Cindy Counce, Michelle Sandquist and Gina Eastin, 42:02; Trisha, Braylin and Kaden Herman, 46:45; and Jillian Warren and Erin Andersen, 48:34.
