Buckley Bombers compete at world series for second year in a row

Amid everything going on in the world right now, northeast Colorado and southwest Nebraska baseball players put that all aside when they stepped on the field at the world series tournament in Mobile, Alabama, this summer.

Last year, the Buckley Bombers, based in Chappell, Nebraska, won its regional tournament to earn the opportunity to play in the Babe Ruth World Series in Mobile.

The Babe Ruth League canceled this year’s world series due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Mobile hosts decided to invite teams for a tournament anyway.

The Bombers headed back to Alabama to compete against other teams from across the country July 31-Aug. 5.
