Ballyneal Foundation offers new scholarships for students in golf industry

For Ballyneal Golf Club General Manager Dave Hensley, golf is all about making connections. The game facilitates friendships between people of different backgrounds, hailing from different parts of the country and the world.
For Ballyneal’s many school-age employees, golf also provides a crucial opportunity to network with potential career mentors and resources.
Now, Hensley said, his club is trying to connect golf industry employees with the funding they need to pursue their college dreams.
“We just felt like Ballyneal is what it is because of our community and because of the kids who work here,” Hensley said. “If it wasn’t for them, the experience that our members have here would not be the same.”
The Ballyneal Foundation will be offering $2,500 scholarships, renewable for up to four terms. Applicants must be employed in the golf industry in Colorado or Nebraska. They must also have a high school diploma or GED certificate, or be a high school student in good standing. College or trade school students with the appropriate credentials are also welcome to apply.
