Bennett takes 2nd in Holyoke Invite
Trey Bennett scored an 85 for second place in the Holyoke Invitational Golf Tournament on Thursday, Sept. 7. Coach Dale Berg said this was Bennett’s personal best so far this season.
Rounding out the HHS varsity team action, Mason King shot a 101, Deacon Dittmer 104 and his best of the season, and Eli Meakins 114 for a team score of 290. The Dragons placed fifth out of seven teams.
Berg noted that King had a good front nine, but trouble on the back. Meakins had a rough day with the trees getting in the way, he added.
Jake Francis of Strasburg had low round with 78. Strasburg took first place with 251, followed by Yuma 275, Brush 281, Sterling 283, Holyoke 290, Cheyenne Wells 321 and Burlington 330.
