Border League schedule announced

Summer ball will look different than in years past

Practice and game schedules have been released, and for Holyoke at least, summer baseball and softball will have some changes from recent years.
Most notably, there will be no Holyoke softball team, as there were not enough girls signed up. On the boys baseball side of things, there will be just one Holyoke team in each of the three age divisions: Peewee (9-10 years old), Little League (11-12) and Babe Ruth (13-15).
In years past, there have been two teams — green and gold — to accommodate age divisions with large numbers of participants. That meant more frequent home games.
Holyoke’s baseball coaches are Hunter Bergstrom, Kody Timm and Dylan Miles.
Practices begin next Tuesday. On May 15, 17, 22 and 24, Peewee will practice at 3:45 p.m., Little League at 4:45 p.m. and Babe Ruth at 5:45 p.m. Starting Tuesday, May 29, practices will be held each Tuesday and Thursday morning, with Peewee at 8 a.m., Little League at 9 a.m. and Babe Ruth at 10 a.m.
Games will begin Wednesday, May 30, with Peewee at 4:30 p.m., Little League at 6 p.m. and Babe Ruth at 7:30 p.m. each time they play.
