Brown, Herman get All-State nod

    Senior Molly Brown of Haxtun and freshman Lauren Herman received honorable mentions in the Colorado High School Activities Association’s 3A All-State softball list, which was released last week.
    The senior shortstop and freshman catcher both played integral parts in the Dragons’ breakout 2018 season, which marked the end of a six-year postseason drought. They also received 2018 All-Conference recognition, along with junior Shianne Willmon.
    Brown was also chosen to play in the Colorado Coaches of Girls Sports’ All-State Game on Nov. 4.
    Other local 3A All-State honorable mentions include junior Isa Alvarez of Burlington, Bree Bandy and Jenna Jaklich of Limon, and seniors Jacy Archer and Morgan Smith of Wray.
